Under the able guidance of the Chief Physician Dr.K.M.P.Chakyar, Principal- P.N.N.M. Ayurveda Medical College, Shoranur and Dr. A.R. Santosh Namboodiripad (Chief Physician), Niramayam offers classical and specific treatments with optimum efficacy and satisfying value. Since Ayurveda is a holistic treatment of the human body based on the unique proportions of Vata (air and ether), Pitta (fire) and Kapha (water and earth) of which a human body is made up of, vitiation of any these doshas bring in disease to the individual human body. All treatments are initiated only after a thorough study of the individual and it will suggest specific lifestyle and nutritional guidelines to assist the individual in reducing any of the doshas that has become excessive. Each treatment is carried out here under the careful supervision of these well-trained and expert Doctors who strictly adhere to authentic treatments as prescribed in the ancient texts of Ashtanga Ayurveda.

History

The history of Niramayam is very much connected to its vicinity which is dotted with folklore, legends and historical artifacts which date back to thousands of years, and has been a melting pot of a proud past and an evolved culture and tradition. About Chittoor Mana:

Chittoor mana Namboodiripads have a glorious past with their close association with the Zamorin of Calicut (Samoothiri in Malayalam), the ruler of Malabar Coast in Northern Kerala. History mentions that the Chittoor Namboodiripads were close confidantes of the Samoothiri due to their spiritual elevation and the latter had reposed so much faith in the former, that when a ruling Samoothiri passes away and before the next coronation, it was Chittoor Namboodiripad who was given the responsibility of governing the kingdom. The last Chittoor Namboodiris who attended such functions of “Ariyittuvazcha” (rituals anointing a person as King) were Valiya Narayanan Namboodiripad and his elder brother Sankaran (Kunju) Namboodiripad. An interesting factor of the Samoothiris is that unlike other ruling families, they never had a conflict among themselves for succession and this unique feature is attributed to the spiritual advice and guidance of Chittoor Namboodiripads. Till this day, the Samoothiris bestow the respect of a spiritual consultant to the Chittoor Namboodiripads. Chittoor Mana Namboodiris have been ardent proponents of the traditional form of Ayurveda from times immemorial and Niramayam is a befitting tribute to the great tradition

Dhanwanthari Moorthy

Dhanvanthari Moorthy is considered to be the father of medicine and health.
He is considered to be an Avatar (re- incarnation) of Lord Vishnu and there are numerous references about him in the ancient Hindu scriptures like the Vedas and the Puranas. He is referred as the physician of the Gods and the founder of what is known as Ayurveda medicine. He is the God of health and immortality. He is also said to be the first physician. It is believed that he is the preserver of the world from all diseases. The Dhanwanthari mantra is recited to remove fears, diseases and improve health of a person.

Neighbourhood

The legendary Peruvanam Mahadeva temple is just five minutes’ walk from Niramayam and the famous Thayamkulangara Subramanya Swamy temple, popularly known as “Kerala Palani”, is situated at the eastern wall-end of the hospital property. Cherpu Bhagavathy temple and Urakam Bhagavathy temple are other important landmarks in the vicinity which draw millions of devotees from across the country to its fold. Thiruvallakavu Dharmashastha temple, a religious center for learning, intelligence and wisdom is located only a kilometer from Niramayam.
